Learn to Manage Challenging Behaviors
The Mandt System builds upon a foundation of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports to prevent escalated behavior in your classroom without coercive or discriminatory practices. We help you create stronger relationships and an environment where everybody, particularly students with disabilities, can say: In this place, and with these people, I feel safe™.
We know that schools cannot afford to keep teachers out of the classroom. Train staff in The Mandt System in just one day.
The Mandt System strives to enhance the ability of staff to respond to crisis situations through the use of key concepts that form the foundation of the program. The pillars of our program include the RADAR process, the crisis cycle, and the development of a philosophy and belief system where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. These concepts are the cornerstone to building healthy, positive relationships with everyone in your schools.
By building healthy relationships, teachers can decrease the amount of time they spend on discipline and increase the amount of time spent teaching. Students benefit as well through inclusive practices that decrease the amount of time they are removed from classroom settings due to discipline issues.
Many of the students served in education settings have never felt physically, emotionally, or psychologically safe. They may have few, if any, healthy relationships apart from family and school. Over time, students develop coping mechanisms intended to keep them safe, but which may also cause them to be isolated and fearful. These students may engage in challenging, unpredictable behavior that poses a clear and present danger of serious physical harm to the individual or others. When these situations arise, educators need to know how to handle the incident safely. The Mandt System teaches crisis prevention and de-escalation strategies through a lens of support and empowerment, as opposed to compliance and control.
The Mandt System is a Trauma-Informed, Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports based sub-clinical training program that focuses on the need for structural and functional behavioral assessments to provide long-term support for students from all backgrounds.
The Hogg Foundation analyzed physical restraint data reported by school districts across Texas. The averages for those schools in Texas that use The Mandt System® was 84% lower when measured as a percentage of restraints for the disability population and 93% lower when measured as a percentage of restraints compared to the total student population.

“I’m privileged to be part of the Mandt family as an Instructor for the hospital organization I belong to. We’ve embraced this program for 3 ½ years now and I’ve seen the staff change in how they manage themselves and how they respond to their coworkers and patients.
Not only is our culture improving in our workplace, but staff have shared how they’ve experienced a healthier personal life! What a gift!”

“I LOVE the Mandt system. In life it can be difficult to find philosophies that match your soul but The Mandt system is just that for me! It helps facilitate relationships that are healthy and safe for both yourself and the people you are supporting. I have been an instructor of The Mandt System for 8 years. I have seen firsthand a tremendous difference in myself and my ability to support the lives of those whom I get the privilege to serve. As if all of that is not enough, using this system has given me confidence to properly handle difficult situations, myself, and my family. ”

“As a Complex PTSD survivor I was dubious and frankly downright worried about taking part in physical de-escaltion training. Now certified, I can unequivocally say that any human service worker needs this training—especially those workers wielding weapons. We cannot heal others when we react and escalate situations. We cannot expect our clients to follow reasonable courses of action when we as professionals fail so miserably in that regard. I was totally impressed with this approach, not only as a survivor but also as a therapist. Get the training! It is one step to a better future for all of us!”
