3/17/21 – Mandt Student Certification Update

As we all continue to navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic The Mandt System continues to work with organizations and their continued training needs. We have been able to allow several student level grace periods throughout the pandemic, the most recent one applying to students you have expired beginning in December 2020 through March 31, 2021. This is a reminder that all students that fall within the grace period will need to have completed at least their Relational certification before March 31 in order to qualify for recertification, otherwise they will need to attend a full course training in order to be certified.

While things are beginning to improve in many areas, we understand that most organization are still a long way from being able to resume their normal training routines. We will be allowing a new student level grace period for students expiring March 2021 – May 2021.

A few reminders about student-level grace periods: They are NOT a certification extension. The student-level grace period allows you to recertify your students after their expiration date without the penalty of having to go through the full training again. If a student’s certificate has expired they are still considered expired, not certified, during the grace period. Please be aware that the grace period is a Mandt System decision and you are responsible for knowing what your own governing body allows.

Kind Regards, The Mandt System Inc.

12/14 – Mandt Student Certification Update

If a student certification expires on or before February 28, 2021..

Student certifications that are expiring in December, January and February are now being allowed a grace period to March 31, 2021 where they can be recertified and not have to attend a full course. Please be aware that this grace period is a Mandt System decision, and you are responsible for knowing what your own governance allows. It is also important to remember that when organizations go back to work, you will not want a backlog in training. We encourage the use of the e-learning and test out options available in the Mandt Resource Center (MRC). Either of these programs can be purchased and issued to students to complete anywhere they have internet access. E-learning will help your staff maintain certification while practicing social distancing. Please note that technical training is not included in e-learning and will need to be completed in person once it is safe to do so. This training can be added to their Relational certificates to complete their certification and to minimize the backlog of training.

These are not easy decisions, and we appreciate your patience at this time. We realize the situation changes by the minute and we are continuing to monitor the latest updates to ensure the safety of all our stakeholders. We look forward to the near future when we can once again provide and maintain the highest safety standards in the industry. If you have questions, please contact us by logging a case in the MRC, e-mailing us at Support@mandtsystem.com or calling us at 1-800-810-0755.

9/21 – Mandt Covid-19 General Update
While most of the nation was in lockdown during COVID-19 we were able to offer a grace period for student level certifications to September 30, 2020. The grace period allowed for students that had expired, beginning in March, due to COVID-19 until September 30th to complete their recertification without having to take the full course training. This is a reminder that this grace period will be ending soon and will not be extended any further. A student’s expiration date is based on their Relational training, so a student would need to be up to date on at least chapters 1-3 before September 30th to not have to take the full course training. Technical training can be done at a later date at the recertification level (we recommend within 90 days) and added to the Relational training.

Our blended eLearning program’s face to face requirement for new students was temporarily waived due to COVID-19 until September 30, 2020. This is a reminder that beginning October 1st we will once again be requiring all new students that are being certified with the eLearning blended program to meet with an instructor before being certified. We will still be allowing for the instructor lead session to be done virtually if needed, as long as students have the opportunity to interact and ask questions as needed. Activity ideas for virtual sessions can be found in the MRC Resources section under Distance Learning/COVID-19.

We were able to offer a 10% discount on our eLearning products due to COVID-19 for several months, this is a reminder that the discount will be ending on September 30, 2020. eLearning seats do not expire, so any seats purchased with this discount can be assigned to students at a later date as needed. This is a great opportunity to build up your organization’s eLearning inventory at a reduced rate, so act now before this deal expires!

6/24 – Mandt Covid-19 General Update

We are continuing the student-level grace period to September 30, 2020. This means that any student whose certification expires between now and September 30, 2020 will be allowed to recertify without the penalty of having to go through the full training again. We hope this extra 30 days from the previous decision of August 31, 2020 will especially help school districts as they gear up to return to school this fall.

We have received many questions about what a student-level grace period is. It is NOT a certification extension.

We have also decided to continue offering the 10% discount on all e-Learning purchases until September 30, 2020. We are continuing the 10% discount to correspond with the continuation of the student-level grace period. The Mandt System’s eLearning options are a great way for organizations to maintain staff certifications while still exercising social distancing. There are multiple eLearning options you can use. See our latest eLearning brochure to learn more.

We are also continuing the temporary suspension of the requirement of the face-to-face component for the blended eLearning program until September 30, 2020. This will allow organizations who need to certify new staff in Relational or Relational/Conceptual level training to do so without having large, in-person gatherings. The face-to-face component can be substituted with a virtual meeting with your staff if you would like and are able to do so.

To further save you on shipping and handling, the seats purchased for eLearning during this time will be offered without a printed workbook. A PDF version of the student workbook is available in the Resources section of the MRC. Upon receipt of credit card payment, your newly purchased eLearning seats are available instantly for you to assign to your staff.

To clarify, all staff are eligible to use the eLearning program, regardless of previous certification. For a staff to be eligible for the Online Recertification Test Out they must have been previously certified at least the last two consecutive years and be current in their certification, or fall within the allowed COVID-19 grace period.

All eLearning options can be purchased in the Store section of your MRC at the discounted rate.

6/8 – Mandt Covid-19 General Update

Since our last update at the end of April many things have changed. Like you, we continue to monitor what is taking place around the world in regard to the COVID-19 outbreak.  It remains our number one priority to keep our faculty and your staff healthy and safe.  Because of changes at a federal, state and local level, we have also made some changes

In recent weeks we have started to once again do face to face trainings.  In many states they still require smaller groups and we have adjusted accordingly.  We have also taken many precautions to make sure we are as safe as possible, even when doing the technical skills portions of the course.   For a full list of the precautions taking place in training events, please click the following link.

In April we implemented for instructors due to expire before August 31st, a virtual recertification path.  This has allowed already certified trainers to get recertified without having to attend an in-person event.  It does require video capability with our faculty and a coaching follow up at a future point as well as the ability to take part of the course in an eLearning format.  There was an overwhelming response to this offer, and it has been very successful.  Because of the success, and our returning to live events, the time slots for video recertification have filled up quickly.  As of June 12, 2020, we will no longer take any more recerts in the to enroll into the virtual recertification program.  We thank all you who have already signed up and would encourage you to complete the e-Learning portions as soon as you can so you can be assigned to a video time slot as they are becoming more and more limited.

In the case where instructors will expire but do not need to teach and would prefer not to do the virtual recertification, we will continue to have an extended grace period of 120 days.  This means you can still attend a training event without penalty of having to attend a full event.  Please note, just like before, if you are in your grace period you are not allowed to instruct and are currently not certified to use the physical skills.

Initially we implemented a grace period for students that previously did not exist.  The current grace period for students is until August 31st.  This is a grace period that allows students to expire and still recertify without penalty of having to attend the full training again.  It is NOT a certification extension.  Please be very aware that this is a Mandt decision, but you must know what your own governances will allow.

We will continue to monitor what needs to take place to ensure the safety of all our stakeholders.  If you have questions, please contact us by logging a case in the MRC, contacting us at https://www.mandtsystem.com/contact/#general or calling us at 1-800-810-0755.

4/22 – Mandt Covid-19 General Update

– Since our first update in March many things have changed. Like you, we continue to monitor what is taking place around the world in regard to the COVID-19 outbreak.  It remains our number one priority to keep our faculty and your staff healthy and safe.  Because of changes at a federal, state and local level, we have also made some changes.  All events have been postponed until the week of May 18th and we daily continue to monitor events still pending for May.

3/30 – Social Distancing Update

With the US government update and extension of social distancing guidance until 30th April 2020 a number of Mandt events are impacted.  If you were scheduled to attend an event in this period as a new or recertifying instructor, these events are now postponed.

Please contact info@mandtsystem.com for further options to discuss alternate certification options.

3/20 – Update

– Like you, we continue to monitor what is taking place around the world regarding the COVID-19 outbreak. The health and safety of our faculty and your staff remain our number one priority. The CDC is now asking that all public gatherings are limited to 10 people or less. Keeping in line with the guidelines of 15 days and out of an abundance of caution, we are postponing Mandt Instructor Training events until April 4th, 2020. Events will resume the week of April 6th subject to ongoing federal guidance. We understand that this will be an inconvenience for many of you. Please know that we are working on ways to help your staff maintain certification in the interim until it is safe to once again gather together.

If your instructor certification expires on or before April 30, 2020:
If you are an Instructor who must continue to teach during this time but your recertification event has been postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we will contact you with ways to maintain your certification until you can attend a rescheduled event. Our faculty will be available to do a combination of eLearning training and video conferencing to provide a short extension on your certification status. In the case where instructors will expire but do not need to teach, we are extending our normal grace period from 90 days to 120 days; meaning instructors can attend an instructor training event as a recert without the penalty of having to attend the full event within that period. Please remember, just as before, if you are in your grace period you are not allowed to instruct and are currently not certified to use the physical skills. Please note: this option only applies to those already certified and not to new instructors.

If your student certification expires on or before April 30, 2020:
Student certifications that are expiring in March and April are now being allowed a grace period to May 31, 2020 where they can be recertified and not have to attend a full course. Please be aware that this extension is a Mandt System decision and you are responsible for knowing what your own governance allows.

These are not easy decisions and we appreciate your patience at this time. We realize the situation changes by the minute and we are continuing to monitor the latest updates to ensure the safety of all our stakeholders. We look forward to the near future when we can once again provide and maintain the highest safety standards in the industry. If you have questions, please contact us by logging a case in the MRC, e-mailing us at info@mandtsystem.com or calling us at 1-800-810-0755.

Your In-house Training

We understand that there are concerns about conducting in-person training while taking precautions to avoid the spread of COVID-19. We recommend that you follow the guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) during any trainings conducted and help assist your students in every way possible to help keep people as safe and comfortable as possible. During your training, you may want to provide hand sanitizer, take frequent breaks and encourage people to wash their hands, provide gloves during physical technique exercises, consistently sanitize the training area with wipes/sanitizers, etc.
If your area or organization is currently in a position where in-person training is currently not an option, there are still other pathways than can be utilized to help maintain your student’s certification. While the Technical portions of our program may not be available to you all at this time, it is important to remember that a student’s expiration date is based on their Relational training. Therefore, if they are recertified in the Relational section, then they will not expire. We offer an eLearning course available for purchase in your MRC for all non-physical chapters as well as an Online Recertification Test-Out option for your more experienced students. Either of these programs can be purchased and issued to students online for them to take on their own to help maintain their certification. Once it is safe to do so, Technical training can then be conducted and added to their Relational certificates to complete their certification. Please note that while the eLearning program will help keep the student out of an expired status, they will not be certified in any of the Technical skills until the in-person Technical portion of the course can be completed.

The expiration date of the technical skills for students is the date given on their certificates.  Unfortunately, we cannot change the standards around technical certification dates or give extensions as they were created to meet and/or exceed what are known to be best practices for safety in our industry.  They also are often standards that are in place by governing bodies or regulatory systems, so therefore, it is good to know what your own governances say in regard to staff’s requirements and certifications if they are expected to continue to provide safety to individual’s served.  So, if a student expires the standard is have them go through the full course again.  So, if you can do the relational recertification and do the technical skills at a later date you would be able to avoid the full certification.
