Year in Review…

We began 2025 at the start of a two-year journey that would take The Mandt System through the most significant changes the program has ever seen, with the introduction of Mandt 3.0.

While the core teaching models and philosophy remain, 3.0 contains many improvements and significant reorganization, all focused on extending The Mandt System’s flexibility in configuration and delivery to provide you with a program that closely fits the needs of all organizations, instructors and students. These changes were prompted in part by extensive conversations we held with certified instructors and partners across the world.

Mandt 3.0 is our response to the needs of a changing workplace.

One of the largest changes was the introduction of the Student Learning Portfolio. One of the needs we heard very clearly during those conversations was the need to extend the training beyond the classroom, as nearly every certified instructor we spoke to agreed that the traditional yearly cycle of student training was no longer sufficient. The Student Learning Portfolio addresses that need through a comprehensive set of tools that can be used both to augment the classroom experience as well as providing immediate reference to every aspect of both the Relational and Technical content.

At the end of 2025 are just halfway through the adoption of the portfolio. We continue to have conversations and consultation as organizations convert to 3.0 about how the portfolio can be implemented. The Student Learning Portfolio represents a significant change to the Mandt System, and we fully recognize that with change comes challenge.

The data is quite clear so far. Since we began distributing the portfolio last in April of 2025, more than twenty thousand users have engaged in nearly fifty thousand sessions with the portfolio. The usage patterns tell us that all aspects of the portfolio are being used by instructors and students individually and in groups.

We believe The Student Learning Portfolio represents an innovative and useful suite of tools providing a training experience unlike any other deescalation training program. Some aspects are novel enough that we have been granted a patent application. As the application process moves forward, we will be using the phrase “Patent Pending” referring to the Student Learning Portfolio.

This is not about The Mandt System patting itself on the back. This is about recognizing the invaluable insights we gained through you, our certified instructors, being willing to share thoughts and needs about your changing workplaces, and using those insights to grow and refine the program.

Just as Mandt 3.0 began with listening, we will work diligently in the months and years to come to ensure that the portfolio embodies the same commitment to continuous improvement and quality advancement that has characterized the Mandt System for 50 years.  Very soon in 2026 we will be introducing new functionality to make the portfolio even more useful.

So we close out 2025 with thanks and gratitude, along with huge optimism for what 2026 will bring. And we are confident that more people, in more places than ever before will be able to say:

“In this place and with these people, I feel safe.”
